چکیده
We use the Boltzmann-Uehling-Uhlenbeck model with a momentum-dependent nuclear mean field to simulate the dynamical evolution of heavy ion collisions. We reexamine the azimuthal anisotropy observable, proposed as sensitive to the equation of state of nuclear matter. We obtain that this sensitivity is maximal when the azimuthal anisotropy is calculated for nuclear composite fragments, in agreement with some previous calculations. As a test case we concentrate on semi-central 197 Au + 197 Au collisions at 400 A MeV.

Statistical evolution of fragment isospin in nuclear multifragmentation
The knowledge of the isotope composition of fragments produced in nuclear multifragmentation can help in resolving important problems: Do the fragments keep the memory of the initial dynamical stage or are they produced statistically? How does the isospin influence the disintegration of finite nuclei and what is the difference to the case of nuclear matter? What is the isospin dependence of the...
متن کاملNuclear liquid-gas phase transition within the lattice gas model
We study the nuclear liquid-gas phase transition on the basis of a two-component lattice gas model. A Metropolis type of sampling method is used to generate microscopic states in the canonical ensemble. The effective equation of state and fragment mass distributions are evaluated in a wide range of temperatures and densities. A definition of the phase coexistence region appropriate for mesoscop...
متن کاملFrom nuclear multifragmentation reactions to supernova explosions
In this talk I discuss properties of hot stellar matter at sub-nuclear densities which is formed in supernova explosions. I emphasize that thermodynamic conditions there are rather similar to those created in the laboratory by intermediate-energy heavy-ion collisions. Theoretical methods developed for the description of multi-fragment final states in such reactions can be used also for descript...

The two instructive effects concerning fragment production at disintegration of finite nuclei are predicted with the statistical multi-fragmentation model: (1) a concentration of neutrons in intermediate mass fragments during the phase transition, (2) the break of the spatial symmetry of the fragment's isospin distribution, as well as of the symmetry of the fragment's emission from a statistica...
متن کاملIsotopic trends in nuclear multifragmentation
An overview of the recent progress in the studies of nuclear multifragmentation is presented. Special emphasis is put on the exploration of isotopic trends in nuclear multifragmentation and the possibilities to extract physical information related to the nuclear equation of state. Relevant experimental methods of isotope identification are described. The isotopic composition of fragments is use...
